Olive Oil

Olive oil from New Zealand is the main ingredient in our body bar.  The original Castile soaps made with 100% olive from the Castile region in Spain dating back to the 12th century is known as one of the gentlest soap there is.

One of the by-products of the soap making process (known as saponification) is glycerin, and is often used as a moisturizer to treat or prevent dry, rough, scaly, itchy skin and minor skin irritations.  Modern, industrial soaps have the glycerin removed (resulting in soaps being drying) and some do not use the saponification process, but synthetic detergents resulting in the modern myth of soaps being drying.

Olive oil makes a mild and effective soap with deeply moisturising and nourishing properties.  Olive oil soaps also help to soften the skin texture, hold moisture and nourish it without interfering with natural skin function.

Olive oil is considered as an effective anti-aging solution because it contains oleic acid and polyphenols. These important components work together in order to improve the texture and skin tone.  Olive oil is known to be a natural source of essential nutrients and vitamins that are important to help you look and feel healthy at all times. Also rich in vitamins E and A, olive oil can help improve your skin’s appearance and boost your immunity at the same time. Its beta carotene content can also help stimulate the growth of new cells, promoting a more glowing and youthful appearance.  As olive oil soaps are gentle, it can be used on the most sensitive skins.
